WATCH: Pia Wurtzbach Angrily Calls Out to PDEA and the Media!

Miss Universe 2015 winner Pia Wurtzbach voices out on Instagram and calls out Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) special operatives on how they bungled an investigation by releasing very private information regarding a suspect to the general public. She posted a black photo with heavy words from her heavy heart about the incident.

PDEA received a tip that there will be something drug related happening at a very prominent and high end hotel located in Bonifacio Global City. When they performed the buy-bust, it led them to the hotel and when they raided the room, they found 11 men, all appear to be in the middle of a drug-fueled orgy.

Director General Aaron Aquino revealed that not only are all 11 suspects are gay, but one of them is HIV positive. This in turn got the attention and backlash from Miss Universe 2016 winner, Pia Wurtzbach who is a known advocate for a lot of causes. Miss Wurtzbach called out both PDEA and media for both exposing and demonizing one of the suspects to be HIV positive and how it was a breach of Republic Act 8504, saying it is illegal to publicly announce one’s HIV status.

Universe, listen to this. A few days ago a drug bust happened in a high scale hotel in Manila Philippines involving 11 supposedly gay men. Two of them were suspected of selling/distributing drugs. During the operation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) found out that one of of them was HIV positive. PDEA and local news outlets decided to expose the identities of these men to the media. Their mugshots, names, and the HIV status of one of them were released. Was this really necessary? I understand that what the men were supposedly doing was illegal and they should face legal consequences. But there was absolutely no need to expose and publicly shame them. It’s illegal to publicly announce one’s HIV status (RA8504). What has been done has not only traumatized the men that were involved; it has also worsened the HIV situation in the Philippines. We’re working so hard in educating the people properly on HIV/AIDS, on taking away the stigma. Because of what PDEA and the news outlet have done, some people are now associating drugs and immorality with being gay. It’s ridiculous. The whole point of this drug raid was to arrest the men for their supposed crime, which was selling/distributing and using illegal narcotics. Being gay is not a crime! Living with HIV is not a punishment! Come on, Philippines. We are already taking small steps forward to improve acceptance, tolerance and understanding. We cannot take big steps back. To PDEA and the news outlets, take steps to mend the situation. Sa aking mga kababayan, wag po tayo maging judgmental. Hindi immoral ang maging bakla, hindi dapat ituring na kaparusahan ang HIV. At lalong hindi ito biro na dapat pag-pyestahan at pagtawanan. To my beloved LGBT community, stay strong. We’ll win this.

Yaya Dub's claim to fame was uploading her quirky and entertaining Dubsmash videos, which caught the attention of local noontime show, Eat Bulaga. Since then, she was popularized with co-star, Alden Richards as a "love team". Yaya Dub has been very reserved about her life and has decided to speak up now.

Yaya Dub took to Twitter and posted 3 pictures with the caption "I got myself, I will catch myself, and I will pick myself up". These pictures were actually an open letter regarding everything, but mainly highlighting the fact that Alden and her were just friends.

Disappointed but still support AlDub fans everywhere understood and said they will never abandon her because they love her for who she is and not who she's with. The text version can be read in her blog.

Donald Trump Jr. is the President of the United States of America, but even though the Philippines has had good relationships with the different presidents in the past, the Filipino people didn't welcome Trump as well as the others. The protesters had to be blocked by police and extinguished by the means of water hoses in order to disperse the on-going crowd because it was going to disrupt the sanctity of the gathering of world leaders.

Trump is one of the world leaders present for the Association of Southeast Asian Nation Summit 2017, along with several others from countries all over the world from different continents, not just Asia. Philippines is the host nation this year and despite being surrounded by external controversy, the Summit has gone smoothly.

Franco Hernandez, a Showtime host and a Hashtag member, had been talked about lately due to his sudden death from drowning. Because of the incident, a lot of grieving fans have been looking at his past videos, and incidentally bumping them in the process. A number of past videos of him had been popping out lately and one of which was his former interview at Magandang Buhay, a morning television talk show by ABS-CBN, and the interview talked about the 3 things he can't live without.

1. FAMILY - it's so hard to survive without the family. They are his strength in his everyday life, from morning 'til evening, before he goes to sleep, after waking up. He says he can't live without his mom, dad, lola, siblings, cousins, etc. which we absolutely agree. As the saying goes " No man is an island!".

2. DANCING- he can't live without it because he started as a dancer, ever since he was still on the kindergarten, to grade school, 'til high school he already was a dancer. Until he had a job and quit because of his passion which is dancing. He added that it makes his life colorful and wonderful. We couldn't disagree more on this. Everyone else has their own passion, would it be singing, writing, painting, playing games, collecting stuffs, etc. Passion is a compelling desire for something , which makes it very hard to resist.

3. SHOWTIME- First of all it's a job and that he's needs a job for money to buy food for his family, to buy stuff he needs, grocery, to pay for bills. It's fun in Showtime, the Hashtags, videographers, director, etc. makes his life colorful. We can watch Showtime almost everyday and it is indeed a show made to entertain everyone through it's funny segments. Franco made place for himself in Showtime due to his current dance group 'Hashtag', a group of male dancers with handsome personalities and a great body shape. He somehow not only develop his talent for dancing during the show but also his way of hosting. A big portion of his memories constitutes Showtime.

Mendiola had her own opinion on the matter, wherein she said that she has hopes and dreams, and that marriage doesn't have to happen just so that she could be saved from bashing. She also had a few words to the people that said she wasn't really invited to the wedding.

But the bashers weren't done with her yet. One of them said that it's obvious Jessy Mendiola wasn't the one who composed the civil response but Luis Manzano. That person also said that if you don't want hate to spread then don't reply or just block.

According to sources, he was riding a "bangka" (Philippine small boat) when waves hit the boat, making it capsize. He and his girlfriend, Janica Nam Floresca, fell off the boat but it was reported that he had hit his head with something hard and he never regained consciousness after that.

 

He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The sad thing is that his It's Showtime family were in New Zealand celebrating Anne Curtis' pre-wedding celebration when the news blew up. The celebrity guests in Queenstown were shocked and devastated, thinking that it was supposed to be the happiest of day but now there's another person to be mourned about.

The netizens were quick to show their support and give their condolences to his family and girlfriend, Janica, who has been so devastated that she couldn't stop posting about him and talking about their plans together.

Viral: The New Samsung Ad Trolls iPhone and its Users!

Competition among big businesses is normal, especially those that have been in the same industry for a very long time. There have been jesting and back-and-forth diss shade-throwing campaigns, usually from leaders of their niche like Pepsi and Coca Cola, and Burger King and Mc Donalds. However, most ads are witty and subtle at their punchlines; taking advantage of the loopholes in advertising laws and ethics.

Samsung and Apple are kings in their own right. Some users prefer the customization that Android offers, while others prefer the simplicity of the iOS technology. However, in light of the recent iPhone X release, Samsung launched an advertisement that might as well be a missile (although spectators have to wonder if Samsung would be the greatest casualty of this campaign).

The advertisement starts off with a man who has been a patron of Apple, dating a woman who owns a Samsung phone. Over the course of the 1-minute video, Samsung demonstrates the many advantages and capabilities that make Apple inferior to their phones. A lot of netizens wondered if the ad was even legal, while the never-ending debate of Apple vs Samsung continues.

Although it could be said that it's just harmless joking and trolling, one has to wonder what Apple will retaliate with.

VIRAL: Former Beauty Queen Could Lose License for Illegal Use of ASEAN Lane!

This is a clear case of "di mo na nga dapat ginawa, pinagmalaki mo pa", a Filipino saying that means you are proud of something that you shouldn't have done in the first place. Maria Isabel Lopez took to Facebook to announce that she had broken the law by using the lane that was dedicated for the participants of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit 2017. Posting an image of herself in the car and 2 videos of herself screaming at the cars that were stuck in traffic, which she speedily overtook through the ASEAN lane even if her car didn't have a sticker.

She was clearly proud of the things that she did with hashtags no sticker, leadership, be like Maria, pasaway (rule-breaker or naughty) and self-preservation. Some netizens applauded her reckless methods but most of the people who commented were angry at her for violating traffic rules and disobeying the law. Since she posted the videos as evidence, she could have her license permanently suspended by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

One comment even went as far as saying that she (Maria Isabel Lopez) should have been the one that died instead of Isabel Granada. Lopez said that she will release a statement in 24-Oras to explain why she did what she did and she is sorry for those that were affected by her actions.
