The home’s façade gives visitors an idea of what to expect inside. Healthy
trees frame the main door while lush plants add an instant tropical vibe.

Talk about making a grand entrance—the home’s main door is an artwork by
National Artist for Visual Arts, Abdulmari Asia Imao. According to Coco, it
was the first door the artist made. “Sinabi ko ngang gusto kong magpagawa ng
art piece sa kanya. Kung pupuwede, siya ang gumawa ng pinaka-center-point ng
main door ko. Siyempre natuwa naman siya,” the actor shares. The main door
features a fish, a request made by Coco since his beloved Lola was born
under the Pisces zodiac sign.
Adding extra oomph to the home’s entrance is a metal artwork reminiscent of
trees by glass and metal designer Miguel Aguas. Coco opted for a work of art
instead of using wood cladding to spruce up the posts near the door.
Living Area (Source: Realliving.com.ph) |
The spacious living area will make guests feel like they’re in a resort.
“Bahay siya, pero ‘yong ambiance niya, nakaka-relax po, gano’n. Kaysa
mag-hotel ka, di ba po?” A captivating work of art serves as the area’s
focal point—a horizontal amber sculpture by artist Trek Valdizno. “Para
siyang dagta. Ang tendency niyan kapag summer, medyo lumalambot. Kaya ang
ginagawa, nire-retouch lagi. Kailangan siyang inaapuyan,” says the actor.
Coco didn’t hold back in terms of investing in the right furniture pieces as
well. Two of Vito Selma’s Paisley chairs are placed in between the comfy
sofas, inviting anyone to sit back and relax. A beautiful center table gives
the space a tropical vibe, with the rug adding an extra snug appeal.

From the other side of the living area, one can best appreciate the airy,
spacious feel as natural light stream in through the glass doors and windows.
Behind the sofa are more notable works of art, one of which is a piece from
brass sculptor Ronald Castrillo’s Balloons in life series. The staircase leads
to the second floor where the bar, home theater, and Coco’s bedroom are found.

Luxe dining can be enjoyed in the cozy dining area where Kenneth Cobonpue’s
12-seater Wave dining table and Vito Selma’s Arata dining chairs and Bos
mirror take the spotlight. The wooden pieces definitely add warmth and make
the space perfect for enjoying meals. To complete the look, Coco personally
arranged the Litten hanging lights from Triboa Bay Living in different heights
to add an inviting glow. From this view, one can see how the lines of the
pieces are reminiscent of calm waves.

If you love al fresco dining, then you’ll surely appreciate the open kitchen
found just a few steps near the pool area. It’s fully equipped with ovens and
different appliances, with enough cabinets where essentials can be stored. The
built-in niche holding the appliances and the storage units sport laminates
reminiscent of natural wood.

Who needs to go out when you have a bar as hip as this? Vito Selma’s work is
featured in the space like the design of the ceiling and a customized table.
The wall behind Coco is like a gallery of sorts—with different bottles
carefully placed in niches serving as accents.

The lighting and chosen pieces will transport you to your favorite hangout
spot, with dark hues, finishes, and mirrors completing the laid-back vibe.

A tufted door leads to the compact yet welcoming home theater where around
eight people can relax and watch movies while lounging on reclining chairs.
The tiny room boasts of topnotch projection and sound systems and a mechanical
screen that can be rolled up when not in use. Behind the screen is Coco’s
collections of awards.

Who wouldn’t be captivated by the striking slab of onyx just behind Coco’s
black tufted bed? It gives the room a psychedelic appeal, balancing out the
modern pieces of furniture in the space. “Sabi nila suwerte daw,” the actor
says of the onyx. Aside from the unique bed, Coco also has another prized
abstract painting by National Artist for Visual Arts Arturo Luz sprucing up
the wall, matching side tables from Kenneth Cobonpue and a gray wing chair.

Veranda (Source: Realliving.com.ph) |
We won’t mind staying in this seating area in the veranda for hours! It’s
perfect for merienda, entertaining friends, and simply reading a book. It’s
completed with a loveseat and two easy chairs from Kenneth Cobonpue’s Link
collection. The said collection highlights a clean, minimalist design—with
the seating pieces showcasing a lovely modular form.

Without a doubt, Coco’s home can rival any resort when it comes to the
relaxing ambiance. You can sit anywhere in the veranda and feel like you’re
resting by the beach. The high ceiling, wooden touches, and chosen furniture
pieces come together to create a cohesive tropical aesthetic. Since it
overlooks the backyard, the veranda is also the ideal place to stay in for
some quiet time and reflection.

Hosting a get-together will surely be a breeze for Coco and his family as
the spacious dining table can accommodate around 10 people. “Dito kami
madalas kumain,” he shares.
Gazebo (Source: Realliving.com.ph) |
Although the gazebo’s ceiling looks like it’s made of abaca, Coco shares
that synthetic materials were actually used. “Actually plastic po ‘yan.
Kasi, pag ‘yong totoo, nalalaglag siya lagi, e. Nabubulok, papalitan mo,” he
explains. To furnish the space, more of Kenneth Cobonpue’s works were
chosen. The Croissant set, known for its ergonomic design is the perfect
choice, helping create an undeniable beachy feel.

Found at the far end of Coco’s property, the gazebo is built on top of a
koi fishpond overlooking the swimming pool and cabana.
Cabana (Source: Realliving.com.ph) |
From afar, the cabana looks like a mini house. It functions as a guest house
when needed. “May bed ito and then may cabinet akong ‘nilalagay. Ang
nangyayari sa kanya, parang condo rin,” shares Coco.

a fantastic view of the outdoors, they also have a huge TV and access to
other entertainment essentials.

The mini kitchen features a refreshing accent wall and materials that
blend in with the outdoor area. According to the actor, he keeps the
kitchen stocked with snacks and drinks.

The home features a beautiful structure with well-thought-out details and
materials. If the outdoor area looks arresting by day, it’s equally
enchanting at night. The depth of the foold ranges from four to seven feet
so that his nieces and nephews can also enjoy. “Actually pati ‘yong Jacuzzi,
pinasadya ko for the kids,” he says.
